Actress Scarlett Johansson sells used tissue on eBay

A tissue used by the Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has been sold for $5,300 (£3,600) on eBay, it has been reported.

Johnansson, who starred in Lost In Translation, was a guest on the American talk show Tonight hosted by Jay Leno, and she blew her nose after being handed a tissue. The actress said she must have caught a cold.

After she had blown her nose in the tissue Johansson put it in a bag and signed it, telling her host that she thought she had caught a cold from him, and suggesting that her illness would be more valuable because it had gone from one star to another.

The money raised by the sale of the tissue is going to the hunger charity USA Harvest, which was chosen by the actress to receive it.

Johansson was on the talk show promoting her latest film, The Spirit, in which Samuel L Jackson also has a main role.

Earlier on in March this year, a fan paid £20,000, again on eBay, for a 20-minute date with Scarlett Johansson, and again the money was given to charity.

The actress reckons it all started when Lindsay allegedly wrote a vile message about her on a bathroom wall 2 years ago.

‘I really don’t know her. I only met her 3 times,’ she tells Allure.

‘But apparently she did [write something]. I don’t know what the motivation was behind that.

'I remember it was something really vulgar — I mean, shockingly so, like: “Whoa, what, who are you?”’
