Jennifer Lope

Once a Fox girl, always a Fox girl.

Jennifer Lopez is coming home.

The singer, dancer and actress is once again exercising one of her lesser-known roles: that of television show producer.

Lopez, according to several published media reports, has signed on to produce an English version of the Argentine telenovela "Rebel's Way," a kind of Beverly Hills 90210-style drama aimed at teens.

She will reportedly put her successful singing career on hiatus to pursue the new project. She has some experience in this field, having executive-produced
Como Ama Una Mujer, a mini-series, for Univision in 2007.

The 39-year-old entertainer is one Hollywood's most powerful and wealthiest Hispanic women. She became a household name after starring as "Selena" in a 1994 biography of
Selena Quintanilla-Perez , the slain Mexican singing icon.

Lopez began her career as dancer, including a stint as "Fly Girl" on Fox's breakthrough television hit variety show "In Living Color," which also launched the careers of Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans and others.

In such hard economic times, Broadway is banking on high-profile Hollywood names to bring in the crowds.

Katie Holmes got the ball rolling last fall when she took to the stage in All My Sons. The play was a big hit, as much with the critics as at the box office. Every day the paparazzi followed Mrs. Cruise on the way to the theatre.

The show couldn't have asked for a better media blitz. She has reportedly been offered a role in the musical adaptation of Finding Neverland, set to run later this year. There is also a rumour Jennifer Lopez recently had a sit-down with the producers of In the Heights.

Among the most highly anticipated shows coming up are the adaptation of Michael Jackson's Thriller and Spider-Man, the latter with music from U2's Bono and The Edge.

And let's not forget Sienna Miller, who will perform in After Miss Julie, and Will Ferrell, who currently stars in one of Broadway's most popular shows, the George W. Bush satire You're Welcome America. The celebrity roll call also includes Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Broderick, Rupert Everett, James Gandolfini, John Goodman and Jeremy Irons.
